Privacy Notice

Effective September 2026. This notice covers egprivacy.com — the practice's own data handling, written the way we'd expect a DPO to write it for a client.

1. Who we are

EGprivacy is an independent outsourced Data Protection Officer practice operating from Cairo, Egypt, at egprivacy.com. For the purposes of Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, EGprivacy is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can reach us at info@egprivacy.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what the contact form and ordinary site operation require:

  • Contact details you submit voluntarily — name, organization, email, phone, and the content of your message.
  • Technical data generated by visiting the site — IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, processed by our hosting and form providers as described below.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, for any reason.

3. How we use it

Contact-form submissions are used solely to respond to your enquiry and, if an engagement follows, to scope and deliver it. Technical data is used to operate, secure, and improve the site.

Where the GDPR applies, processing rests on your consent (submitting the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and operating a functioning website. Under Egypt's PDPL, processing rests on your explicit consent given by submitting the form, and on the legitimate business purpose of responding to it.

5. Third-party processors

We use a small number of specialist providers, each bound to process data only on our instructions:

  • Formspree — receives and delivers contact-form submissions to us by email.
  • Resend — sends the PDPL Quick Check results email, including the PDF report, to the address you provide.
  • Microsoft Azure — hosts the website's static files and runs the Quick Check tool's PDF-generation function.

6. International transfers

Because our hosting and form/email-delivery providers operate infrastructure outside Egypt, submitting a form on this site — including the contact form and the Quick Check tool — may involve a transfer of personal data outside Egypt. We rely on those providers' own published safeguards for such transfers. If you have questions about a specific transfer, write to us and we'll explain exactly where your data goes.

7. Data retention

Enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to respond to you and, if an engagement begins, for the duration of that engagement plus any period required by applicable record-keeping obligations. We delete or anonymize enquiry data we no longer need.

8. Your rights

Under Egypt's PDPL and, where applicable, the GDPR, you can ask us to:

  • confirm what personal data we hold about you, and access a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete data we no longer have a valid reason to keep;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out; and
  • complain to Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center, or to your local data protection authority if the GDPR applies to you.

To exercise any of these, email info@egprivacy.com. We respond within the timeframes the applicable law requires.

9. Cookies & local storage

This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It stores one small preference — your last-chosen language — in your browser's local storage, purely so a repeat visit opens in the language you used before. Clearing your browser data removes it.

10. Contact

Questions about this notice, or about your data specifically, go to info@egprivacy.com.

11. Changes to this notice

We'll update the effective date above whenever this notice changes, and post the revised version here. We won't reduce your rights under an earlier version without telling you.
